Britain's referendum on whether to quit the European Union was too close to call on June 24, with early counts wavering between quitting and remaining as each district registered its votes. The first results showed a razor thin margin in favor of staying in Newcastle. But after that a cascade of results put the "leave" camp into an early lead and forced bookmakers to adjust their odds to reflect for the first time an even chance of a 'Brexit.'
