MADRID, May 29 (Reuters) - Spanish police have arrested a top drug trafficker with the Italian Camorra crime syndicate, on the run for 21 years since escaping from Grasse prison in southeast France, the Interior Ministry said on Saturday.
Pasquale Claudio Locatelli, 58, is wanted by France and Italy and is believed to be the middle-man between Colombian cocaine producers, North African hashish producers and European narcotics gangs, the ministry said in a press release.
Locatelli, who was carrying false identification papers and five mobile phones, was arrested at Madrid’s international airport while waiting for his son to arrive on a flight from Italy.
