You're reading: Stoltenberg says no dates of new Russia-NATO Council sessions set as yet

BRUSSELS - NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said on July 13 that other sessions of the Russia-NATO Council are also planned in the future, but he did not announce concrete dates.

New sessions of the Russia-NATO Council will be held, transparency, reduction of risks, Russia’s proposal on air security in the Baltic Sea region will be discussed at them, he said at a press conference in Brussels.

Exact dates of the sessions are not set as of yet, Stoltenberg said.

It is also unclear at what level they will be held, he said.

The decision on the date of the next session has not been made and its format has not be determined as of yet, Stoltenberg said. In 2014, when NATO suspended its practical cooperation with Russia, an agreement was reached to keep in place the Russia-NATO Council as a platform for political dialogue at the level of permanent representatives and higher, the secretary general of the alliance also said.
