US currency speculator and stock investor George Soros has visited the Finance Department today for a closed meeting with Finance Minister Agus Martowardojo which spokesman said was only an "introductory meeting" with the former Bank Mandiri boss.
Soros who had visited President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in his capacity of UN climate change envoy five days after the resignation of Sri Mulyani made public, or nine days before Yudhoyono appointed Agus to the post, had about one and a half hour meeting with Agus, Rahmat Waluyanto Director General of Debt Management said.
