BANGKOK, May 14 (Reuters) - The Thai army said on Friday it may use force to stop protesters from forming new checkpoints outside their main encampment in central Bangkok after a group of red-shirted demonstrators gathered near a major outdoor market.
"We will not allow the formation of checkpoints outside the main encampment and will use force to disperse if necessary. We want to limit the protest site," army spokesman Sansern Kaewkamnerd told reporters.
Hundreds of protesters still gathered on Friday outside the Suan Lum night market to stop soldiers from advancing.
