LONDON (Reuters) - Three children were killed in a suspected gas explosion at a house in Edinburgh on Wednesday, police said.
Lothian and Borders police said two boys and a girl of primary school age died. An adult woman was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.
Emergency services were called after reports of an explosion and fire on the first floor of a three-storey townhouse in the Scottish capital.
The fire was put out by the local fire service.
