The toxic sludge that leaked into the Danube from an aluminum plant in Ajka, Hungary, is not a threat to Hungary's tourist venues, a spokesman for the Tourism Councilor's Bureau of the Hungarian Embassy in Russia, told Interfax.

"No obstacles obstruct tourist visits to Hungary. The entire tourism infrastructure – airports, hotels and other tourist venues and programs, are operating as previously," the spokesman said.

None of the tourist vouchers sold have been rejected, he said, citing travel companies selling vouchers to Hungary.

An environmental disaster that struck Hungary in early October, has left seven people dead and more than 150 injured, earlier reports said.
