NYON, Switzerland (AP) — McDonald's is to sponsor all Europe's top-tier international football competitions through 2017.
UEFA said Wednesday that the contract includes the next two European Championships for men and women, four men’s under-21 competitions and three futsal tournaments. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
McDonald’s joins Adidas, Carlsberg, Castrol, Coca-Cola and Hyundai-Kia as global partners for the European Championship, which ranks as the third most popular global sports event behind the World Cup and Summer Olympics.
UEFA said Euro 2008 earned €1.3 billion (then $2 billion) in commercial revenue.
