Ukraine as of July 27 had threshed 22 million tonnes of grain, which is 3.8% down on 2009, the Agriculture Ministry has reported.
Ukraine has threshed early grain and leguminous plants from an area of nine million hectares, or 76% of the plan. The average yield of early grain crops in Ukraine this year is 24.2 quintals per hectare against 27.6 quintals per hectare year-over-year.
The wheat harvest as of July 27, 2010 was 13.7 million tonnes from five million hectares, with an average yield of 27.3 quintals per hectare, while that of barley was 7.6 million tonnes from 3.6 million hectares with an average yield of 20.8 quintals per hectare.
According to the ministry, farming businesses have also harvested 1.23 million tonnes of rapeseeds from 740,000 hectares as of July 27, 2010, with an average yield of 16.5 quintals per hectare.
