ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Fire Service officials in Greece say several villages have been evacuated on the island of Samos as a wildfire swept across forest land on the western part of the island.

Officials say no one was hurt and no reports of property damage had been received ahead of Monday’s evacuation. They did give details how many people have been involved in evacuation from the Marathokampos area of the island.

Six water-dropping plans and five helicopters battled the blaze, the second major wildfire to affect the island in a week.
