Ukrainian President Victor Yushchenko regards as useful the idea of holding a trilateral summit of the heads of state and governments of Ukraine, Russia and EU countries consuming Russian natural gas, the presidential press service reported on Wednesday.

But as Russia is a party to the gas dispute, it cannot host such a summit on its territory, Yushchenko said.

He named as the most acceptable place for holding the summit one of the European capitals, for instance, Prague as the capital of the country currently presiding in the EU or Brussels as the city hosting the headquarters of the European Commission
