Kharkiv - Ukraine's former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will be able to meet with her daughter Yevhenia Tymoshenko, who is also her defense lawyer, as an exception, Ihor Kolpaschykov, the head of the Kanachivska penal colony, said.

“Today we have received a request from Tymoshenko for a meeting with her defense counsels. Despite the fact that the order [restricting mass events in Kharkiv] is still effective, she will be allowed a visit with her defense counsel today as an exception. The defense counsel will be Yevhenia Tymoshenko,” he told reporters outside Kharkiv’s Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 on Tuesday.

Kolpaschykov reiterated that the visit will be a brief visit, not a long-term (three-day) visit.

Yevhenia Tymoshenko has already been informed about the possibility of meeting with her mother and will arrive in Central Clinical Hospital No. 5 in the nearest future, he said.

According to earlier reports, Kolpaschykov said on November 25 that short-term and long-term visits had been cancelled in all penal colonies in the Kharkiv region.
