Former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has said that for the sake of Ukraine's European integration she will accept all offers from the European Parliament's monitoring mission led by former European Parliament President Pat Cox and former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski "no matter how difficult they could be."
“I state that for the sake of signing the Association Agreement I, without any discussion, have always gratefully accepted all offers regarding my release from the mission of presidents Cox and Kwasniewski agreed by EU leaders. And, for the sake of the European future of my country, I will continue to accept all of their proposals no matter how difficult they could be for me,” reads an open letter by Tymoshenko, which was read out by Batkivschyna MP Serhiy Sobolev on the Shuster Live program on Friday.
She said that she had never put forward and it not planning to put forward any conditions or requirements to the European Parliament’s mission regarding her fate and called for an “end to all provocations.”
Tymoshenko also promised that if the mission refuses to consider the procedure for her pardon and decides that the problem should be resolved through the adoption of a law, the Batkivschyna faction will support the bill, which will be agreed with Cox and Kwasniewski.
“If the mission of presidents Cox and Kwasniewski decides to refuse the procedure for my pardon and decides that it’s necessary to switch to the adoption of a law in the Verkhovna Rada regarding my release, our team will vote only for the version of the bill, which will be fully agreed with the mission of EU leaders,” reads the open letter.
