The defense counsel of former Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, former Ukrainian MP Serhiy Vlasenko, has said that claims he beat his ex-wife Natalia Okunska have no grounds and are false.

“The materials of the case contain interrogations of so-called witnesses who saw nothing during such incidents,” Vlasenko told journalists on Tuesday.

“The materials of the case on the events of 2008 contain the results of tests dated 2013 describing a cruel beating. It’s a fake – I’m stressing this once again,” “I’m stressing this once again – I am a decent man, I don’t beat women.”

Vlasenko added that all of the charges brought against him were groundless and absurd.
