Super Bowl Commercials

Those interested in advertising business will find this event a must-see. Kinopanorama will screen all the TV commercials shown in the halftime of the 50th Super Bowl on Feb. 7, in the most expensive airtime. This year, the price broke a new record: The companies paid $5 million to air a 30-second-long commercial.

‘Fragments?’

Art
exhibition “Fragments?” features the paintings of a young Ukrainian artist Anna
Myronova that she has cut in pieces. In the artist’s perception, the exhibited
pieces hint that they are parts of something bigger while the full paintings
are unreachable.

‘La
Traviata’

“La
Traviata,” the masterpiece opera by Giuseppe Verdi, will run again on the stage
of Kyiv Opera Theater. The storyline is based on “The Lady of the Camellias,” a
novel by Alexandre Dumas, fils. It’s a love story of a French courtesan and a
young bourgeois, whose father is against the affair. The libretto is in
Italian.

Balthazar

A Belgian
indie rock band Balthazar will perform in Kyiv for the first time in their
12-year-long career. The show will center around the band’s mini-album “Wait
Any Longer,” released in 2016. Ukrainian rock band 5 Vymir will play the
opening act.

‘Veterans’

The
exhibition is a project by American photographer of Ukrainian origin Sasha
Maslov who photographed over 100 veterans of various wars in 21 countries. The
exhibition got praise in the Western press.

Astronaut

God is an
Astronaut is a post-rock band formed in 2002 in Ireland by twin brothers
Torsten and Niels Kinsella. The band released seven records since then. The
show in Kyiv is part of the promo tour for their 2015 album, “Helios/Erebus.”
