A bright hat and suit, along with a dazzling smile, are well-known attributes of famous jazz musician Kenny Wayne. He was born in Spokane, Washington and later moved to Los Angeles where his music tastes were formed. Now Kenny Wayne lives and creates his wonderful music in Vancouver, Canada.

Wayne’s unique style was influence by Fats Domino, Roosevelt Sykes, Professor Longhair and Pete Johnson. The music Kenny plays is traditional blues, resembling works of Amos Milburn. That is why Wayne is considered to be a connecting-link between old and modern blues.

In addition to his vocal talent and masterly piano playing, Kenny Wayne possesses powerful energy and charisma, earning him much popularity and success. He was first awarded in 1997 at the Pacific Music Industry awards ceremony for “Best Blues Album of the Year” and was named the best songwriter of the year by Socan. Real Blues Magazine called Kenny Wayne to be the best blues musician of Canada in 1997 – 2005. The “Blues Boss” also won a bronze medal in recognition of his contributions to the Blues music scene in France. At the 2005 Maple Blues Awards ceremony a jury including Bob Koester, owner of Delmark Records and Bruce Iglauer, owner of Alligator Records, named Kenny Wayne the best pianist of the year for a third time. His most recent achievement was a Juno Award for “Best Blues Album of 2006.”
