Volodymyr Klitschko appeared in a small role in a movie by Til Schweiger.
While Vitaliy Klitschko combines his boxing career with his political work on Kyiv’s city council, his younger brother Volodymyr has started a career in showbiz. He has already made an appearance in the hit movie “Ocean’s Eleven,” where he was shown engaged in a ring fight with Lennox Lewis at a Las Vegas hotel, and now the time has come for his second role.
Just recently, Klitschko finished shooting a small part in a new film by German actor and director Til Schweiger. Schweiger, already famous worldwide as an actor and known to Ukrainian audiences as a star of the film “Knockin’ on Heaven’s Doors,” is currently shooting his third movie, “Keinohrhasen,” in which Klitschko appears as a guest star, playing himself. In the movie, Klitschko will be shown getting married to a well-known German singer and actress Yvonne Catterfeld. Schweiger, who will play the lead role in the movie, will be portraying a recently unemployed paparazzo trying to prove himself by taking pictures of celebrities, including Klitschko at his wedding. In an interview posted on the official Klitschko brothers’ site, Volodymyr claims the director was satisfied with his work and impressed with his acting, and while he has no special plans to pursue an acting career, he doesn’t exclude the possibility of appearing in more movies, if he receives any worthy offers.
Earlier this month, rumors were spread on Ukrainian news websites that said Volodymyr Klitschko was going to take part in a reality show on the German channel ZDF. Over the course of the show he would have to choose a bride out of 12 candidates. However, the “news” was clearly something of an April fools joke later denied by Klitschko himself, which must have been a relief to the boxer’s female fans, who would be upset to see him married. The latter also guarantee that “Keinohrhasen” will be a success once it hits the big screens in 2008 – the ladies surely won’t miss a chance to see Klitschko playing a romantic hero, cooing words of love to his bride.
