When German band Cinema Bizzare released their first successful single “Lovesongs (They Kill Me)” in 2007, they seemed to be copying fellow Germans Tokio Hotel and Finnish Rasmus at the same time. Firstly, they put on the look of androgynous young boys wearing lots of dramatic makeup and glam rock hairdos. Secondly, their music style combined new wave and synthpop. Managed by Lacrimosa frontman Tilo Wolff, the band released three albums in total, yet failed to produce any more major hits since “Lovesongs.” Still, with nicknames that sound like Japanese cartoon characters, Strify, Shin, Yu, Kiro and Romeo, Cinema Bizzare easily get their share of attention from sensitive young girls, including those from Ukraine.
