Author Peter Byrne – and Wprost, the Polish magazine he quotes – seem to have made a bargain to sell Novy Kanal to Pinchuk. Good for them. But the real owners of the channel – Alfa Capital Ukraine group – might have something to say about that.
This is not the first time the Kyiv Post has tried to place Novy Kanal under Pinchuk’s control. Some time ago, we kindly asked the paper to verify this information to avoid misleading its readers. In addition, we offered full information and commentary on all issues affecting the channel.
It’s a pity you have ignored our openness and willingness to cooperate. And if a Polish magazine can’t be expected to be completely familiar with the way things are in Ukraine, it would be nice if a paper that works in Ukraine and claims to be professional was more specific and accurate with the information it provides to its readers.
