Editor’s Note: The following are opening remarks made by Kyiv Post owner Adnan Kivan, a native of Syria, on Dec. 11, 2018, at the 7th Kyiv Post Tiger Conference.
The main engine of achieving justice, democracy and prosperity is freedom. Freedom of speaking, freedom of thinking, freedom of writing, freedom of doing business fairly. This is why ladies and gentlemen, I have devoted so much time and energy and millions of dollars in supporting free press, such as Kyiv Post, TV channels and other media resources.
I assure you I am the only person here in Ukraine who is doing that without any political agenda. God with us and we with God. God bless all of us on this path. We shall succeed in Syria here and everywhere to build democracy, justice and a good standard of living.
