Ukrainian ecological activists have been fighting for four years to protect the unique Borzhava ridge, one of the most beautiful places in the Carpathians, from the construction of a huge wind power plant. The case perfectly reflects the state of the current Ukrainian legal system and institutions. Still rather slow, over-bureaucratic, misused when not controlled by the public but already transparent and with the rule of law gradually ousting old corrupt practices.
