Ukraine’s law on “Ensuring of the Functioning of Ukrainian as the State Language,” was adopted in April 2019, during the former president Petro Poroshenko’s administration and previous Parliament. One of the most important aspects of the law has recently come into effect on Jan. 16, raising hot public debates in Ukraine.
