Brian Mefford: Ukraine update, Sept. 3, 2014 – the cease fire?
A Ukrainian soldier allows a truck to pass belonging to the volunteer Azov battalion at a chek-point of Ukrainian troops at the east end of Mariupol on the road leading to Novoazovsk, a city which came under Russian control on Sept. 2.
The Cease Fire and the End of the ATO – September 1, 1939 marked the beginning of World War II. September 1, 2014 marked Ukraine’s Defense Minister Heletei announcing that the ATO (Anti-Terrorism Operation) was over and an active war phase to defend Ukraine from Russian invaders had begun (at this rate, we can only imagine what September 11, 2014 will bring…).
