At Lake Seliger,  in the green woods outside Moscow, bright young Russians in thrall of Vladimir Putin gathered at a camp last month to quiz their hero. Putin has plenty of fans to populate these Kremlin-sponsored youth events, and like any politician, he revels in the attention and chance to offer a word of advice. But one eager question prompted an answer heard much further away - in Kazakhstan.
