Dire shortages of power have shut down a large chunk of China’s economy. Britain has been brought to its knees because gasoline is in short supply. Grocery store shelves are emptying. Automobile manufacturers and other goods producers in the U.S. and Europe halt production and shut down plants because semiconductors are not available.
