Financial Times: Britain’s drift to the foreign policy sidelines
British Prime Minister David Cameron
David Cameron has long championed Britain as a vigorous and vital steward of global security. He has regularly talked about its “special partnership” with the US and how the country is deeply engaged in a “generational struggle” against Islamist extremism. But far from leading the west’s response to bestial jihadism in the Middle East or Russian aggression in Ukraine, Britain is everywhere absent.
