Financial Times: Ukraine sets its face towards the West
Ukraine's parliamentary elections mark a critical juncture in the country's post-Soviet history. They confirm the pro-western direction of its politics, producing for the first time a legislature clearly dominated by those favouring closer ties with the EU. The old pro-Russian parties have been pushed to the margins. The influence of the oligarchs that sustained them has been significantly reduced.
