The French will know more about outstanding Ukrainians immigrants
From Jan.15-29, Ukrainians on the French Riviera Festival is being held in Nice. The event is dedicated to the 155th anniversary of the birth of an artist Maria Bashkyrtseva, Ukrainian by origin. According to the organizers the festival is going to return heritage of Ukrainian artist immigrants who lived in Nice. Bashkyrtseva made a significant contribution into French culture development. The festival program includes fashion show, vernisages, women’s Ukrainian prose parties in the library and a performance by letters of Bashkyrtseva.
Talented youth can get 60 grants from Yanukovych
This year President Viktor Yanukovych can give 60 grants to talented young people whose activity is aimed at maintaining and implementing socially important creative projects in humanitarian sphere. Annual grants for talented young people are given to citizens of Ukraine at the age of 14-35 years old.

Half a million hryvnias will greatly change Ivan Honchar Museum
Due to the half-million hryvnias grants received in the Dynamic Museum project, the Ivan Honchar Museum is going to make great changes in two directions. The first one is the staff training and preparation of the museum program (thematic lectures, seminars, workshops). The second area is technical modernization of exhibition galleries. In the nearest future the visitors will also see collections of exhibitions of other museums exposed at the Museum. Another innovation to implements is an interactive children’s playroom.

Ukraine managed to make an environmental breakthrough
On the new version of the annual climate ranking Climate Change Performance Index 2013, introduced at the 18th Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC (Qatar, Doha), Ukraine’s position can be described as a real environmental breakthrough in comparison of the one in 2012. The country ranked 19 instead of 39 last year. The rating takes into account statistics of current greenhouse gas emissions, their future dynamics, energy efficiency and level renewable energy implementation.
Among 15 transition economies Ukraine ranked the 4th. Totally the rating includes 58 countries.

Kyiv shows what the art of truth, compassion and patience looks like
Jan.17-27 Kyiv gallery ‘Gamma’ (9, Hrushevskyi Str.) invites everybody to an international art exhibition ‘The Art of Zhen Shan Ren’ translated as ‘”The Art of Truth, Compassion, Patience’. The visitors can see 32 reproductions by 12 artists from Canada, Australia, the USA, Taiwan, Thailand and Japan. The works are performed in oil in the style of ‘Renaissance’, several works are presented in ink and silk, traditional Chinese style. The exposed pictures reveal the beauty of self-perfection, a feat of human spirit and courage in defending freedom of faith, show origins of good and evil, search for the true purpose of human life. Entry is free.
