Unique Bible
collection can be found in Rivne Oblast

A multi-language Bible collection, about 60
versions, can be found in the village of Peresopnytsia of Rivne Oblast. There
are Scriptures in Uzbek, Swedish, Estonian, Greek, Chuvash, Italian, Croatian,
Vietnamese, Danish, Arabic, Russian, Hebrew and even artificial language
Esperanto. The oldest book, dated of 1868, is a translation into German made by
Martin Luther.

The main exposition of the collection is considered
to be a facsimile copy of the Peresopnytsia Gospel, written in a local
monastery in 1561, it was the first translation into old Ukrainian language.

Ukraine and
Lithuania will exchange health care experience

Ukraine and Lithuania expressed their
willingness and readiness in sharing experiences on health care reform, implementation
of health insurance, development of transplantation and pharmaceutics spheres.

During the bilateral meeting the health
ministers reached an agreement to intensify exchange of students, doctors and
medical personnel process, to organize Ukrainian nurses’ visit to Lithuania to
study the experience, to provide Lithuanian medical experts with Ukrainian strong
research and academic base on a training stage.

Lviv topped
50 cities in the world on Trivago Best Value 2014 Index

On Trivago international resource Lviv topped 50
best tourist destinations in 2014. The city ranked the 39th on Trivago
Best Value Index 2014, its index was equal 95.86%.

The main criterion for the top list was price
and service quality rate (for instance, the resource compared the hotels where
the room for two costs less than €100 per night) and architecture.

On the Trivago estimates a room at hotel in Lviv
costs €73 per night.

 Sotheby’s Contemporary
East auction will first present Ukrainian artists’ works

On Nov.25, 2013 the works by Ukrainian artists will
be first presented at Sotheby’s Contemporary East, London. This very section
will exhibit the paintings of Russian and East-European artists working since the
80-90’s to the present day.

The top-lot of the auction, the painting ‘Holidays
№6’ by Ilya Kabakov, is estimated as $1,3-1,9 million

 Kyiv will honor
one of the best Ukrainian opera singers

In March 2014 Kyiv hosts the 1st International
Song Contest ‘From classic to modern’. It is focused on finding Ukrainian talented
children and youth and helping them to develop their professional skills. The
contest searches singers in three main categories such as academic, folk and
pop. Each nomination includes four age groups: 5-10 years, 11-14 years , 15-17
years and 18-25 years. The organizers also establish the special category contest,
‘Academic singing’ named after Serhiy Zadvornyi, one of the best bass on the
world opera for the latest decades.
