Andriy Bohdan, the newly-appointed head of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s Administration is a man prohibited from holding public office, but Ukraine’s Supreme Court has refused to examine a complaint about the illegality of the appointment. The Court claims that the only people entitled to appeal the decision are either Bohdan himself, or persons whose rights are directly affected by the appointment. The right of citizens to expect that elected representatives will comply with the law does not appear to count.
