Kateryna Kruk: Do not fear the Maidan lessons for Yerevan
The recent events in Yerevan Armenia caught a lot of attention among foreign audiences and raised a legitimate interest about the nature of the movement and its demands. One of the most popular trends has been seeking any similarities with the EuroMaidan in Ukraine. The geographical proximity and common challenges posed by Russia seem to be obvious reasons for this approach. Another trend, which is directly linked to the first one, is to contrast both movements. In many debates and articles about the events in Yerevan we see a repeated message: the "ElectricYerevan" movement is not the same as the EuroMaidan because it is against a government decision and not against any other state.
