As Ukraine's President Poroshenko visits the White House and the US Congress weighs up ISIL, the question arises: which is the higher priority, which the greater threat? Can we deal with both simultaneously and adequately? Realistically speaking, must we focus on one before the other owing to our increasingly constrained resources? And what about the pivot to Asia - that particular long term strategy, a deeply considered policy compared to the others, seems to have faded from view. In all of this, Scotland thinks it has the leisure to consider secession.
