The National Anti-Corruption Bureau was launched almost seven years ago to fight high-level corruption. During these past years, Ukraine has seen investigations of people who had previously enjoyed immunity from any form of probes. Today, however, the bureau is facing constant pressure aimed at depriving it of independence. The key battle is to determine who will be the bureau’s director and how to conduct the selection process.
