As most countries including Ukraine take extraordinary measures to withstand the coronavirus pandemic, the conflict areas are facing even worse challenges. According to the IV Geneva Convention, the occupying power “has the duty of ensuring the food and medical supplies of the population” of the territories it controls. However, Russia that occupies the Ukrainian regions of Crimea and parts of the Donbas doesn’t provide enough medicines for both regions and the existing supplies are running low in the areas.
