Local Odesa pro-Ukrainian activist and corruption fighter Serhiy Sternenko was charged with deliberate murder for an act of self-defense in which he killed his attacker. Hundreds of Ukrainians are rallying to his defense, and the Ukrainian Helsinki Human Rights Union decried his criminal persecution as politically motivated.
