On June 4, the Ukrainian parliament voted to appoint Oleksandr Tkachenko as Minister of Culture and Information Policy. The position of Culture Minister has been vacant since the beginning of March when the Parliament dismissed the government of Oleksiy Honcharuk. At the end of March, the Culture Ministry and the Information Ministry were merged into one, effectively eliminating cultural policy from the list of priorities for Ukraine.
