The independent National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine or Suspilne has been paralyzed as a court has blocked its bank accounts because of old debts inherited by the company. This news first appeared on Feb. 28, and the message seemed to come out of the blue. In fact, it did not. Despite issuing multiple warnings, ignored both by the previous and the current governments, the debt grew like a snowball cascading down a hill.
