I could never have imagined that I might one day find myself wandering the streets of Lviv with Emanuel Ax, one of the world’s great pianists. To Manny, as he insists on being called, this trip has special significance. He has travelled from New York, where he now lives, to this city where he was born in 1949. He left when he was seven years old.
