The Russian army is at loggerheads with the country’s security services, according to an opinion piece in the Center for European Policy Analysis. The army is deeply unhappy at the new and curtailed strategy Vladimir Putin has ordered them to adopt in Russia’s war on Ukraine, abandoning the big goal of capturing Kyiv for a much more modest objective of invading Donbas.

And the Russian army is pointing the finger at other agencies, the FSB’s foreign intelligence branch primarily, for misinforming Putin about the true conditions inside Ukraine that have led to failure. Other FSB departments appear to share the military’s analysis, the article underlined. It can be read here in full.
