On Dec. 10, president of the right-wing populist Independent Greeks party (ANEL) and former Greek Defense Minister Panos Kammenos, slammed the hierarchy of the Church of Greece, led by Archbishop Ierōnymos II. He described them as “criminals” for their decision to recognize the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) which he labels as “illegal.”
