Zelenskiy’s team mentioned several times that they planned to dissolve the Ukrainian parliament. Snap elections would give the biggest number of seats to Zelenskiy’s yet-non-existent party “Servant of the People,” which would ride the wave of Zelenskiy’s unexpected success at presidential elections and give him a majority in Parliament. However, many fear that Zelenskiy’s true goal for dissolving parliament is the desire for the absolute power he was shown having in the TV series in which he starred playing the role of president, “Servant of the People,” which includes the control of the Parliament and controlling judges. Now the Verkhovna Rada set the date for his inauguration, but it’s still unclear whether the President-elect will be able to dissolve it.
