Chicago hosts the second annual Ukrainian Fashion Show
As a part of the project on Ukrainian designers promotion the second annual Ukrainian Fashion Show took place on December 21, in Chicago.
This year the following collections were presented: ‘Pray for Ukraine’ (by Yaryna Zhuk, Ukrainian designer from New York), ‘Paris Melodies’ (by Iryna Khalabura from Ivano-Frankivsk) and multi-brand collection ‘Zerno’.
The guests could appreciate high fabrication and embroidery techniques , fliabric quality (Italian silk and wool, cotton, linen, laces, leather).
The clothes was demonstrated not just by Ukrainian models, but also by girls from Lithuania, Poland and Bulgaria.
About 200 people attended the event including Tima Fei (a famous Chicago DJ) and fashion consultant at fashion boutiques of BEBE, Hugo Boss, Tom Ford.

Photo of Sviatohirsk Monastery topped at Wiki Loves Monuments contest
The photo of Sviatohirsk Cave Monastery (Donetsk Oblast) by Konstantin Brizhnichenko won the first prize at Wiki Loves Monuments contest. The man will get a scholarship for travel and living in Mexico to participate in Wikimania, the official annual conference of the Wikimedia Foundation to be held in June 2015 in Mexico City.
The first written mention of Sviatohirsk Cave Monastery is dated 1526. Before World War I about 600 monks used to live in the monastery. In 1930s it was ruined by Soviet government, same as many other religions monuments on the territory of the USSR. Today the monastery community consists of more than 100 people and increases every year.
The photo of the monastery was selected among other 321 000 photos sent from all over the world. Totally about 1,1 million photos were submitted to the contest for the last four years.

15 famous Ukrainian women joined ‘Sincere’ photo project.
The project goal is to demonstrate the national colour and wealth of traditional Ukrainian clothes. For the project realized a stylist Antonina Belinska got together more than 30 collector’s costumes from 10 Ukrainian regions. The photo shooting lasted for about two months. The photos were used to create a 2015 calendar.
‘This project is about love to Ukraine, all Ukrainian things and Ukrainian people. That’s’ why we offer everyone to buy our ‘sincere’ calendar’, Natalia Kravets, the project initiator and the executive director of Domosfera Trade Center, mentions.
All raised money will go to help injured soldiers in Kyiv Military Hospital.

Lviv girl’s picture to be printed on American X-mas postcards
Picture of the Blessed Virgin by 10-years-old Katrusya Lukina from Lviv Oblast was chosen to be printed on American Christmas postcards.
She painted it two years ago. First the picture won a competition in Prykarpattia region and later bested at competition in Washington (the drawing was purchased by Ukrainian immigrant living in Washington now).
After taking first place at American competition the drawing gained a right to be printed on Christmas postcards.

Poland tp share devolution experience with Ukraine
Vice-Minister of Regional Development, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine H.Zubko and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland Grzegorz Schetyna signed in Warsaw the Memorandum for Cooperation on Local Government Reforming in Ukraine.
The cooperation will be implemented in the form of consultative meetings on laws and regulations drafting, trainings on local government reforming, study tours supported by Poland.
For reaching effective results an advisory group on local government reforming in Ukraine will be created. The group will include Polish and Ukrainian experts on constitutional law and local governments.
