The Hague festival guests see ‘Ukrainian Village’

For the second time Ukraine took part in the festival of cultures held in The Hague. One of the event targets was presentation of Ukrainian products, culture, cuisine and traditional dress to Europeans. Representatives of 30 countries participated in the festival.

‘Ukrainian Village’ stand visitors could taste and buy Ukrainian sweets, honey, sausages, lard with rosemary, adzhika, and items with Petrykivka painting, wreaths, handmade embroideries, beads.

Ukrainian location was organized by the Foundation ‘Ukrainians in the Netherlands’ under support of the Embassy of Ukraine in The Hague.

Ukraine ranks 11th in the Best developers countries ranking

In HackerRank ranking Ukraine took 11th among the best developers countries. The ranking is topped by China.

The ranking also published countries’ positions in various categories. It shows that Ukraine entered TOP-5 countries in ‘Mathematics’ category and topped the ‘IT-security’ countries list.

The first Ukrainian school opens in Malmo

The first Ukrainian school opened in Malmö, Sweden. The children are divided into two age groups: older pupils (3-6 years) and juniors (1-3 years).

Lessons are arranged in an interesting and cognitive form including singing songs, reading stories, theatrical performances, poetry.

The study process is organized in two premises: Ukrainian Union (4c, Branteviksgatan) and NBV (15, Ystadvägen).

Classes are given on Saturdays from 10a.m.

Koreans will see culture and art of Ukraine

KBS, Korean public TV channel, will broadcast ‘Bright Life’ program to show cultural and artistic life in Ukraine.

Korean crew began shootings from Pavlo Virsky Ukrainian National Folk Dance Ensemble (the journalists attended a rehearsal and saw national traditions and customs in dance performances).

In the nearest future foreign journalists will shoot master class on rag dolls and travel to Lviv.

‘White Elephant’ photo gets the IFPA medal

Taras Dutka, a photographer from Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast, received the International Federation of Photographic Art Gold Medal (FIAP).

‘White Elephant’ photo was recognized the best at the International Art Photography ‘Fotovernisazh Protection 2016″, ‘Landscape’ category.

White Elephant is the former Astronomical and Meteorological Observatory located on the peak of Pip Ivan in the Chornohora range of the Carpathian Mountains, Ukraine.
