‘Prayer for Ukraine’ film to
be shown in 8 countries
‘Pray
For Ukraine’ movie preview took place in Kyiv. The film is premiered in
September 2014 at Toronto Movie Festival. Then the movie will travel to New
York (the Documentaries Festival) and Hollywood (The Directors Guild of America
Award), Warsaw, London, Tokyo, Calcutta, Abu-Dhabi. Ukrainian audience will see
movie on November 21, 2014, on the day of The Revolution of Dignity start.
Ukraine to participate in the
NATO special session
NATO
Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, while his staying in Kyiv, invited
Ukrainian president Petr Poroshenko to participate in NATO summit in Wales.
Ukraine is not the NATO member that’s why special meeting will be held for
Ukraine to be able participate in it.
‘In
order to express our strong support and solidarity we decided to hold special
NATO session for Ukraine at Wales summit. I will be looking forwards to see Mr.
Poroshenko there’, the Secretary General mentions.
During
Secretary General’s visit to Kyiv Mr. Poroshenko awarded him with the Liberty
Order, the highest Ukrainian award for foreigners.

Uzhgorod pupil entered TOP-15 Google
science fair finalists
Mark
Drobnych, 13, from Uzhgorod became one of 15 Global Finalists of Google Science
Fair 2014. The recognized jury highly appreciated the project of the young
Ukrainian scientist – School Presentation Microscope with Remote Control. The
device was designed of the basis of LEGO Technik and LEGO Mindstorm EV3, it can
be controlled with any Android device via Bluetooth, the image to be broadcast
with the help of Google Hangouts program.
In
September all finalists go to Mountain View, California (Google head-office)
where they will compete for prizes in different age categories (13-14, 15-16,
17-18) and the main prize which $55, 000 for education, 10 days-trip to
Galapagos Islands as a part of National Geographic Team; tour to Virgin
Galactic Spaceport etc.

Georgian low cost airlines to
launch Kyiv-Tbilisi flight
Georgian
low-cost airlines Flyvista launches Kyiv-Tbilisi flight on August 28, 2014.
Flights will operate each Monday, Thursday, Saturday from Kyiv Airport
Zhulyani.
Flights
will be operated on Boeing 737-300 planes.
The
schedule is the following: Tbilisi – Kyiv flight departs at 1 p.m and
Kyiv-Tbilisi flight departs at 3:25 p.m. The flight duration is 1 hour 45
minutes.
One-way
ticket price starts from $99. All drinks and food onboard are available for
sale. Free luggage allowance is one 7kg piece of hand luggage and one 20kg
checked in piece.
