Facebook vyshyvanka profile flash mob to unite Ukrainians all over the world
My profile photo in Vyshyvanka flashmob dedicated to
Independence Day of Ukraine has been launched in Facebook. The flashmob motto is “Let’s create a vyshyvanka chain to
unite Ukrainians and their friends all over the world.”
The campaign purpose is to unite Ukraine’s citizens and
their friends all over the world, to show the variety of vyshyvanka ornaments
and promote Ukrainian folk art in the world.
The FB users must do the following:
– take photo in vyshyvanka;
– upload the photo as profile picture;
– post the photo on the FB event (https://www.facebook.com/events/354534074699238/).

Ihor Kostenko from
Heaven Hundred is recognized as Wikipedian 2014
Ukrainian journalist Ihor Kostenko, one of Heaven
Hundred, became Wikipedian-2014. The verdict was announced by the Wikipedia
founder Jimmy Wales on Aug. 10.
The Wikipedian of The Year title was given by Wiki
community to Ihor for his contribution into Wikipedia promoting in social
networks and peaceful stand for his social position. This annual prize is
awarded for the highest achievements of Wikipedia editors and authors.
Ihor Kostenko is a Ukrainian journalist, geography
student and Euromaidan activist. He was an active contributor to the Ukrainian
Wikipedia.
Kherson swimmer set European record in the Netherlands
Swimmer Yelyzaveta Mereshko from Kherson secured four golden
and two silver medals at Swimming European Championship for Paralympic athletes
held on August,4-10 in Eindhoven (Netherlands).
Ukrainian athlete was the best in 50m Freestyle, 100m
Freestyle, 4x50m Freestyle Relay and Mixed 4x50m Freestyle Relay and took
second place in 400m Freestyle and 200m Individual Medley.
Simultaneously Yelyzaveta set European record in 100m
Freestyle.
Diaspora youth fest 2014 gathers Ukrainians from 35 countries
Ukrainian youth from 35 countries to take part in
Ukrainian Diaspora Youth forum Frankivsk 2014 to be held on August 17-28, 2014
in Ivano-Frankovsk. It is expected that about 200 people aged 18-30 will
participate in the forum.
The Forum agenda consists of three main parts:
– Diaspora Youth Camp – themed sessions and panel
discussions (August 17-25, 2014);
– annual meeting and Conference of Ukrainian Youth
Organizations World Congress (August 26-28, 2014);
– Diaspora Fest 2014 – modern youth bands’ performances
and Ukrainian diaspora artists’ showcases (August 26-28, 2014).

‘Vinnytsia Region – Business in the Heart of Ukraine’ begins in Vinnytsia.
The delegates from all Ukrainian regions, Poland, Moldova,
Belarus and Romania to attend the forum.
Two-day forum program includes ‘business to business’
meetings where Vinnytsia business owners of different economic sector (from
agricultural and food sector to industry) will get a chance to discuss
cooperation possibilities and present their products. International delegates
