Native of Mykolaiv promotes his native city through
embroidery and postcards

Ihor Slobodyanyuk, 49, from Mykolaiv has been
already embroidering for 30 years. Applying
cross-stitch, half cross-stitch, back needle techniques he makes rushnyks (for
wedding, icons, Easter), baptizing sets (shirts, dresses, hats), vyshyvankas,
table clothes and napkins, pillow cases, pictures.

Ihor’s works can be found not just in Ukraine, but in
Switzerland, Germany, Turkey, Russia.

The master accompanies his orders with a postcard of
Mykoliav (in Ukrainian or English) inviting Ukrainians and foreigners to visit
his native city.

Deliveries within Ukraine are for the master’s
account. International deliveries are made for the account of Ihor’s daughter,
Hanna, who tries to promote her father’s talent.

Made in Ukraine missiles are in the development
process

State enterprise Ukroboronprom is completing
development of two emerging unified air-to-air and ground-to-air missiles.The
missiles are intended for interception and destruction of piloted and
non-piloted aircraft and have medium range; they are equipped with dual rated
and infrared seeker and powerful solid-fuel engine. All completing parts are
produced in Ukraine.

Ukroboronprom was founded in 2010. Now it comprises
134 enterprises of military-industrial complex.

Ukrainian scientists developed anti-cancer vaccine

Ukrainian scientists developed a unique vaccine for
oncology patiients. The vaccine has minimum side effects and its cost is five
times less than chemo course. According to the specialists the vaccines are
individually tailored for each patient.Ukrainian scientists succeeded to
improve vaccine after three years ago their American colleague
discovered special dendritic cells, immune system cells.

The biggest world’s consumer of goods produced in
Odesa is the Virgin Islands

During January-March 2014 commodities turnover between
Odesa and the Virgin Islands is about $100 million. The second biggest exporter
is Russia (a little bit more than $18 million).

The following goods are in a high demand: grains,
sunflower seeds and fruits of oil plants, basic metals and articles made
therefrom; machinery, equipment, electronics, alcohol and non-alcohol drinks,
inorganic chemistry products, devices and optic appliances, vegetable products.

Another countries top in Odesa products’ export are
Poland, Panama, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands, Belarus and Italy.

Kharkiv students to have internship in France

Students from Kharkiv Petro Vasylenko National Technical
University of Agriculture have the opportunity to do internship at French
agricultural companies. The program aims to apply students’ theoretical
knowledge in practice and study new farming technologies. The internship
consists of four levels. The first level is focused on work at farms; the
second one provides practice at agricultural government or private companies;
the third and the fourth level allow training in banks and French-Ukrainian
companies of agricultural and food sector. Successful internship at the last
two levels makes it possible to start career at French companies located in
Ukraine or continue studying at French universities.
