World biggest Taras
Shevchenko graffiti painted in Kharkiv

October 24, 2014 Taras Shevchenko portrait painted on a
17-storey building in Kharkiv was included into Ukraine’s Guinness Record Book
as the biggest graffiti on the building façade. Artists had been working at the
giant portrait since the beginning of October. About 900 spray paint cans were
used for the graffiti. The graffiti sizes are 43m high and 12m wide.

Truskavets
present
its therapeutic
potential in Italy

Delegation from Truskavets city visited the International Forum of Aquileia Euroregion held on
October 24-25, 2014 in Udine, Italy. Europeans had
a chance to know more about therapeutic and tourist potential of Truskavest, in
particular, health benefits of Naftusya mineral water.

The association ‘Euroregion Carpathians-Poland’ provides
strong support in Truskavets therapeutic potential promotion. The association
recognized the city as the center of Carpathian health and Ukraine’s
top-priority tourist product for promotion.

Ukrainian bandura
players to give some concerts in USA

This winter Ukrainian Bandura Capella will give several
concerts in USA.

The first one is scheduled for December, 6 in Chicago and
the second is held on December, 13 in Detroit.

Ukrainian musicians will play Ukrainian and Western
Christmas Music and introduce new repertoire dedicated to Taras Shevchenko’s 200th
Anniversary to audience.

Cherkasy alpinists
conquer Himalayan peak

Alpinists Mykhailo Fomin, Mykyta Balabanov and Vyacheslav
Polezhayko from Cherkasy returned from expedition to the Himalayans. Their
route lasted from September, 27 to October, 3. As
a part of the project ‘Bring Cherkasy Flag to the Mountain Tops’ the athletes
conquered Langshisa Ri top reaching 6427m high.

The first European contest on Ukrainian marital art held in Lviv

The first European Championship for cadets, juniors and
adults took place in Lviv on October 25-27, 2014.The athletes competed in
‘duel’, ‘form’ and ‘exhibition performance’ categories. Totally 150 athletes
from Ukraine, Poland and Romania took part in the Championship.

Horting is a full contact complex martial art born in
Ukraine. This kind of sports is an integral part of youth patriotic upbringing,
rebirth and development of Ukrainian martial arts, health improvement
development of physical, moral, spiritual and intellectual potential.

As a part of the Championship the project ‘Patriotic
strategy: Horting is the art of victory’ was presented to public. The project’s
priorities are patriotic upbringing of kids and youth, instilling love to their
Motherland and people, involving to physical exercises and sport, sport
self-development, teaching trail orienting, first medical aid skills, moral
stamina in extreme situations, skills of training weapons use, means of
personal defense, rock-climbing.
