A young girl invents a multifunctional thermal imager
It took two months
for schoolgirl Nastya Shmahaylo to design a model of thermal imager. The base
of the prototype model is optic system and matrix: objects thermal radiation is
projected through lenses to the matrix of sensors sensible to infrared rays.
Complicated microcircuits read information from sensors and generate video
signal.
‘The device
uniqueness is in applying the following three components: thermal imager, chemical
and nuclear analyzer. The technology is the following: the imager focuses on
life objects and commands to ‘start analyzing’. The piston pump inducts air. It
changes one after other indicators into red, green and yellow color. The color
signifies the existence of chemical and radioactive elements in the air. The
data received is automatically transmitted on the imager monitor’, Nastya
comments.
According to the
girl’s research advisor Mrs.Khovan the suggested model can significantly extend
scouting possibilities, ‘The device both can ‘see’ through walls and be carried
everywhere that is very important in battle actions. It weights up to 5kg
that’s why it is quite easy to install it on a quadcopter and bring it to
inaccessible places’.
The first Ukrainian supercar model is under development

Zaporizhia car design center Askaniadesign Carstyling and Speed-Line Club are
developing the first Ukrainian supercar. The supercar maquette can be seen in
the local car museum ‘Faeton’. Technical characteristics and price of the
future Ukrainian Ferrari are at processing stage.
‘Probably it will be
100% electric, but it is not a final decision yet. We want to create a model to
show for the potential buyers in Ukraine and abroad. We will treat each client
individually and according to their requirements we will determine the final
price, $50,000-$150,000’, Roman Sukhorukov, design center project manager,
comments.
The presentation of
the first Ukrainian supercar is planned for spring 2015.
