Zaporizhia beauty is a
face of German government’s ad campaign

As a part of initiative on involving immigrants in state
institutions service in Germany, Ukrainian-born Yulia Bilozerchuk became a face
of advertising campaign on promoting police service career among immigrants.The
campaign has been already lasting for two years.

Yulia is originally from Zaporizhia and for the last four
years has been working in police service of Frankfurt airport (she belongs to
1% of police officers with immigrant background).

s among Wikipedia TOP-15

Photos of five Ukrainian natural beauties were included
in TOP-15 Best Photos of Wikipedia International Photo Contest.

Dmytro Balkhovitin was awarded the first prize of
International photo contest Wiki Loves Earth for the view of Carpathian
National Park from Hoverla, Ukraine. The jury was particularly impressed by the
composition of the photo and its lighting with great crepuscular rays.

The other Ukrainian beauties ranked in TOP-15 are Mount
Shaan-Kaya, Yalta Natural Reserve by Oleksandr Chernykh, Novyi Svit Sanctuary
and  Zuivskyi Regional Landscape Park,
Donetsk Oblast by Vitaliy Bashkatov, and Mount Kukul, Carpathian National Park,
Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast & Carpathian Biosphere Reserve, Zakarpattia Oblast
by Volodymyr Khirash.

This year 3000 participants submitted more than 70 000
photos for the contest.

Serhiy Zhadan
is Jan Michalski Prize winner

Ukrainian writer, poet and social activist Serhiy Zhadan
received Jan Michalski Prize, one of the most prestigious literature prizes of
Switzerland.

The honored jury highly praised Serhiy’s novel
‘Voroshylovhrad’ translated into French. The award amount is CHF 50.000.

Jan Michalski Prize was founded in 2004 to support
writers and promote multicultural cooperation.

China is ready to
invest
 $2.5 millions in a vegetable greenhouse complex

As a part of Ukrainian-Chinese project on creating joint
agricultural company Fanda investors are willing to invest $2.5 million in a
vegetable greenhouse and processing complex.

‘We want to restore the existing complex, extend its area
up to 12ha, grow, process and pack vegetables’, Eduard Samotkalov, the owner of
DARA group, mentions.

Nowadays the company owns 2ha. It targets to increase the
complex by 10ha and install water sprinkling system. Five additional vegetable
processing lines and packing units have been purchased already. The approximate
annual production can reach 600-1000mt.

Ukrainian business
club opens in Prague

Ukrainian Business Club was initiated in Prague, Czech
Republic. The club will be a platform for business meetings for businessmen,
official delegations, new contacts establishment, experience and information
exchange, as well as a push for goods exchange increase.

‘We have planned some business trips for Ukrainian
businessmen to Czech Republic. Now we are arranging meetings with Czech
businessmen in order to establish direct goods exchange. Then we have some
agreements with delegations from Lviv, Kyiv, City Council representatives
having some progects to realize and looking for investors in Czech Republic’,
Taras Yakubovskiy, Ukrainian Business Club President, says.

Currently the Club includes five official members (both
companies and legal bodies).

According to the National Statistics Office of Ukraine
for the first half of 2014 the goods exchange volume between Ukraine and Czech
Republic is USD 800 million (8.6% less in comparison with the same period of
the last year).
