Traditional chrysanthemum festival to start in Kyiv

The chrysanthemum festival ‘Melody of Fall’ starts at Kyiv Spivoche Pole on October 7.
The florists are working on creation of the biggest 3D installation made of 15,000 chrysanthemum, 100,000 meters of multicolor ribbons, 100 kg of marble chips and 200 kg of decorating mulch.

The exhibition will work until October 30.

The first Ukrainian school opens in Luxembourg

The first Ukrainian school ‘Barvinok’ opened in Luxembourg. Thus, children will be taught Ukrainian language, and grown to respect for the Ukrainian national identity, language and culture.

The school opening ceremony was attended by Mykola Zharov, President of the Association of Ukrainians in Luxembourg (LUkraine), and Colette Hartwich Vice President .

Italian café in Odesa – successful story about an IDP from Luhansk

Andrii Zalohin from Luhansk opened ‘Вuongiornо’ (Good Morning) cafe in Odesa. The man became a participant of a social program ‘Final Countdown 2’ implemented in Odesa.

Andrii won a grant, bought ovens and opened a cafe offering fresh bakery, Italian coffee and homemade ice-cream. He has an experience in this business while living in Luhansk where he made rather popular ice-cream.

The has a family format, no alcohol and no kitchen. In future Andriy plans to introduce children’s ice-cream workshops.

Enjoy cooking Kolomyia authentic dishes

A culinary book ‘Authentic dishes of Kolomyia district” is available for buy. The book consists of several chapters (‘Festive and ceremonial meals’, ‘Soups’, ‘Main courses’, ‘Sweet dishes, drinks’, ‘Restaurant dishes’) and a brief glossary.

All recipes were provided by women from all villages of Kolomyia district (Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast). The book is bilingual, its recipes are written in Ukrainian and English.

Cuneo locals can see a street installation made b Ukrainian girl

The sculpture called ‘Point of view’ by Liliia Mochula, student of the Roman Academy of Arts, was installed in the town on Cuneo, Italy.
The installation is shaped as a block of stone having many holes symbolizing various points of view.

‘Point of view’ work won last year’s competition for young artists ‘Scultura da vivere’, and its author received a grant of 5,000 euros to create a full-size sculpture. The sculpture dimensions are 2 m (height), 3 m (length) and 70 cm (width).
